Present day Lahteenmaki home in Finland

This is a photo of the Lahteenmaki home taken in the summer of 2010. The color, red, is how cousin Pirkko remembers it. Arja took pictures of the house from other views, they are also included in this part of the album. In and email to cousin Janet, Pirkko related this information about the house: "Laimi's home is still there, in fact very close to the border between Jalasjarvi and Kurikka or vice versa, depending on which dierction one travels from.  The stretch of the area is called Lapioneva, but unlikely to show on the map. The address is Koykkalantie, 61230 Kurikka (sorry, don't know the house number), which is off the no 3 road between Jalasjarvi and Kurikka.  The house is the red one on the right hand side soon after turning onto Koykkalantie. The last time I heard Mikko Lahteenmaki lived there with his wife and children. Mikko is Laimi's brother Aarne Jaakko's son Juho Jaakko's son. The other Lahteenmaki house (the one her grandfather built when he returned from America) is not far from this house, just further along the road, but I do not know  who lives there now. I am hoping to have time to visit when I go in mid June".
