Ernie Promotion to Corporal

Very sad news! Yesterday (Wed. March 16, 2011) we attended Uncle Ernies funeral! He was 90 years old. He died March 12 at Conamauugh Hospital. His body just gave out on him. The funeral was well done and the Minister's Homily was excellent. After the burial a lunch was held at the Church social hall. It was also excellent. The funeral parlor had his WWII uniform on display. I talked to so many people from the past. All in all, I learned so much more about Uncle Ernie. I was surprised how little I really knew about Uncle Ernie. We tend to isolate our own experiences with a person and forget that the person had so many more contacts and experiences beyond ours. If I can gather some of the information, I will try to include it in this web site.
