Finn Church Catechism

This group was taken in 1937. It was a Catechism class of the Old Finn Lutheran Church. The Hakanen's were regular church goers until the Church could not find a Finnish speaking Minister. The Minister in the center of this picture might have been the last of the Finnish speaking Ministers. In 1937 he was assigned to the Monesen and Nanty-Glo parishes. He lived in Monesen. Left to right the students were. Wilmer Kivisto, William (Quill) Deetscreek, Unknown girl (possibly Ina Kivisto), The Minister, William Deetscreek, and Ernest Hakanen.
