Finntown boys on Voimas

This 1939 photowas probably taken as the Voima players were preparing for their trip to Burton Ohio, where the Finnish Temperance League Held the playoffs. In the back row are Harry Aho, and Ernie Hakanen. The front row has Red Hoskins ( a none Finn who lived in Finntown) and Hubert Aho. Nanty-Glo won the playoffs this year and the next two years, allowing them to keep the Trophy Cup. The cup is located in St Paul's Lutheran Church in Mundy's Corner. Harry and Hubert,s mother is in another photo on this website. The story of how the internet put me in touch of one of her ancestors years later is also there.
