grandmas brother juho with wife and children

If you look in the album "Discovered Cousins" you will see how we met Pirrko and Arja, cousins through Great Uncle Mike's marriage, Arja, who lives in Finland, has helped me to get in touch with "blood" cousins in Finland. One problem we had was those she found first did not speak English. Arja arranged meetings with them and was led to Kaarina Kivisto, the grandaughter of my grandmother's older brother. Arja contacted her by mail and phone. Kaarina had her daughter, Leena, email me (she speaks English). Leena emailed me on December 8, 2011. This photo is one of three that Leena sent in her second email. The picture is of Juho Kivisto, grandma's older brother. He was 8 years old when grandma was born. He and his wife, Sanna (Kallio) Kivisto had 5 children, however three of them died in childhood. The 2 surviving children were Martta, who never married and passed in 1989 at the age of 88, and Vilko, Kaarina's father and Leena's grandfather.

In this picture is Juho (grandma's brother) and his wife, third and fourth from the left in the center row. Martta, center in third row. Viljo center in front row. Martta and Viljo are the children grandma asked about in the post card I talk about in the picture of the Hakanens and Kivistös. This picture might have been taken around the same time as the postcard from Nanty-Glo was taken. Maybe the Nanty-Glo picture was a response to the postcard. I must ask Leena who the rest in the picture are.
