Uncle Ernie and Wes

This photo was taken when Ernie graduated from high school. I would have been in 2nd or 3rd grade at the time. Ernie entered the Army not long after. The draft took most of the men right out of high school. Everyone had to register for the draft. My Grandfather Whitsell had to register. My Dad was exempt at the time because he had a wife and child. They started with single persons, went to married with no children, then to married with only one child, etc. It was an interesting time in history.
