Aunt DeDe and Uncle Bill

Most of the 40s when I lived in Nanty-Glo the Uncles were gone in the service and those were great years to remember. This picture was taken before uncle Bill went into the service. When Bill returned from the Service I remember he started teaching and he and DeDe came to Nanty-Glo nearly every week-end. There were things I dreaded too. Uncle Bill was a very exuberant teacher and would bring workbooks for David, Donna and I to do. He often left us with homework for the next week-end. I don't recall how Dave reacted to it but I hated it! Of course, I wasn't the best student to begin with. And on the other end of the spectrum was Donna! She proudly "aced" all the assignments. What a show off! Of course, now that I am a grandpa, I know she was, "just a girl".
