The Hakanen household after Edith and Helen were married

In this photo Is Uncle Elmer, Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Ernie, on the floor. This is the Hakanen household as I remember it when I was spending my summers there after moving to Turtle Creek, Ernie was unmarried. He didn't get married until he was in his 30s. Helen and Bill Mott built a house in the far end of the Hakanen Property and Edith and Bill lived in Franklin, a suburb of Johnstown, Arvid had passed away. This picture was taken in the room where we listened to the radio and later watched TV. Perhaps the TV had arrived when this photo was taken. If you look close there is a picture of Edith and Bill Salem on the wall in the background. Edith and Bill would come almost every weekend. There was another "living room" adjacent to this room. It was seldom used. Most of the "living" was done in this room and mostly in the kitchen where there was always a pot of coffee on the stove. That was a well used kitchen, day and night!
