Elmer, Sulo and Roy

Elmer (front) Sulo (back right) and Roy Hakanen (back left). Elmer is John Hakanen's younger brother and uncle to the other two in the picture. Roy is Mike's son and Sulo is John's son circa 1925. Roy was the third child of Mike and Laimi Hakanen. It is told that Roy pretty much took over the responsibilities of their Ohio farm after his mother passed away in 1920. His father Mike gave up farming when Laimi died. Roy would only have been 13 years of age.
